We’re just a bunch of Wookies.

Edwardsville area high school students launch new robotics club and enter international FIRST competition.

Beep-boop-rzzzz-woo-rzzz. That’s robot for, “Welcome to the Edwardsville Tech robotics team website.”

Our team is brand new and the first in the Edwardsville area, and we’re just getting started. It consists of roughly a dozen high school students from EHS, Metro East LHS, and Father McGivney CHS. Several parents (engineers and non-engineers) are volunteering their time to guide and mentor us.

Designing and building robots is what we do, but there is a lot more to it. We consider our team to be like a technology startup, so in addition to students interested in engineering we also need students with interests in business, accounting/finance, fundraising, graphic design, websites, social media outreach, marketing and brand development, administration, and several other areas.

We really hope to grow our team and to get as many students participating as we can, so any Edwardsville area high school student is welcome! It’s never too late to join, either!
